Manager of Accounting, Compensation & Benefits


Responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.). Included, but not limited to, maintaining the data accuracy of the payroll system and full cycle processing of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 60 employees, including year-end and audits. This position will manage general ledger and journal entries. Managing data integrity on an ongoing basis is required with the highest level of accountability, confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Administers all aspects of our compensation and benefit plans.
  • Accountable for the enrollment, change and termination process for all benefit programs.
  • Generates and executes communication plans for open enrollment and benefit enhancements.
  • Initiates compensation review / market comparisons for new and existing hires.
  • Management of annual employee insurance review and renewal for Employees. (along with brokers, Controller, President & owners)
  • Audit master files for payroll and benefit provider invoices for accuracy.
  • Manage financial reporting and book monthly journal entries into the general ledger.
  • Formalize the LC process including onboarding of new factories.
  • Execute chargeback reporting.
  • Account reconciliation.
  • Financial reporting; cycle analysis, monthly reporting, cashflow reporting.
  • Budget assistance with Excel schedule tracking.
  • May oversee finance and accounting support team members who are responsible for compiling data.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree from college or university preferably in accounting or business.
  • QuickBooks and Product Lifestyle Management (PLM) a plus.
  • Entire Microsoft Suite; Excel a priority.
  • Drive to meet deadlines, particularly with regard to regular reporting and document submission.
  • Trustworthiness and confidentiality regarding company proprietary information.
  • Ability to prioritize many projects at one time.
  • Responds promptly to internal and external customer needs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition.
